We have changed how we package our Guayusa Teabags, and some people might be wondering…

Why is the price going up?

For 5 years, since we first started selling these Guayusa Teabags in 2018, until now -2024-, inflation averaged 4.5% a year. According to the bank of england inflation calculator (click here to see for yourself), goods costing £8.99 in 2018 would cost £11.37 in 2024. Moreover, food inflation has been significantly higher than overall inflation. Yet, our price hasn’t budged.

We’ve always been comfortable with slim profit margins because we believe that providing good value products to more people is more rewarding in the long term, and it aligns with our intrinsic belief that good healthy products should be affordable to more people.

However, up to a point a profit margin can be so slim that it is an unsustainable, and so we have reached that point and it is time for change.

The thing is, we are always looking to see how we can improve our business and reduce the end cost to you, our customers. As it turns out, despite everything, we have found a way to provide even better value Guayusa Teabags!

What are the changes?

As you can see, by providing you more teabags in a single pouch we’ve managed to reduce the cost per tea bag!

Additionally we will be offering 10% discount for those who buy direct from our website, and 15% discount for those who buy 3 or more pouches in one order. (The postage cost per pouch is decreased when you order at least 3 pouches – we pass those savings on to you)

At the same time the new vacuum packaging combined with the oxygen absorber will mean that the Guayusa is kept fresher than ever up until you tear it open.

Admittedly, there are a couple of caveats. The old pouch was resealable and was opaque. These changes mean you need to make sure to transfer the Guayusa to an airtight tin once received; since Guayusa should be kept in a cool, dry, dark place with minimal oxygen to best maintain its quality.

We hope you feel that this minor drop in convenience is worth the added value. Let us know what you think! 🙂
